Part (lucky) Thirteen! Eyes!

All righty. As with all things muppet-style puppet, there are many ways to make your puppet’s facial features! Below is one way, but don’t worry too much about doing it like I did. You can play around with different ideas, pin or tape things in place and just see if they look right. I decided to use some buttons.

I didn’t like the way the buttons looked just by themselves, soI found a small piece of scrap fabric to make eyelids with. Using hot glue, I made some little triangles to fit around the buttons.

Be sure to check the size of the eyelids before you cut them out!

Next, you’re going to fit the eyes onto the puppet. It’s a good idea to pin everything in place before gluing. Try moving the eyes closer together, farther apart, up, down, etc. The eyes can really determine the character of the whole face.

I just now realized he’s a salamander.

And there you have it! Because he’s a salamander, he doesn’t have a nose. Or lips.
